From nowhere....

Sometimes there are things in this land of pure which you have never expected, actually happen with you. I met with such a fate few days back when I received a call from Mobilink Telecom. It was not the first time they called me to reactivate my three yearlong deactivated SIM.

On September 15, 2015 once again they called me. As soon she asked me about SIM reactivation. I was like why the hell they are asking me again n again, I controlled which paid me off in the end and this is what this write up is all aboutJ.

To my surprise, she talked with me in a very personal way. She told me politely sir if I was not interested at all then I might want to remove it from the NIC. She continued and informed me that I need get it activated the last time in order to remove it.

She told me the whole process and revealed the secret of a refund amount of two thousand and four hundred rupees. I am still not sure from where this amount reaches my account.

In 2012, I blocked this SIM after paying the balance amount. I specifically asked the guy at customer care to make this permanent blockage. The guy told me sir the SIM is now perm blocked and your account history is now cleared.

Anyhow, she (in a very friendly manner) asked me to visit any customer care and get it re-activated. She also advised me not to disclose my intentions of eventually closing this account, for time being. She told me just go and get my SIM, use it for a day or two, then it is up to me whether I would like to continue. Otherwise close this account and get the refund amount.

Later, I visited them and I got the best customer care I ever had. That lady (on her cell) was continuously with me over the phone and one of the attendant took my case on priority basis, made certain verification, offered me a cup of tea, and had a formal informal chit chat. They guy at customer care told me that she is from a core team in Lahore headquarter and might be on to achieve some targets.

In the end it was some happy feelings and not to forget the amount I got which I never thought of.

IT Professional doing Civil Engineering.....

For last one year I have been involved in house construction besides my Software Quality Assurance. They are two of them, one is mine and the other is my Uncle's house.

From masonry work to plumbing, electric wiring to carpenter's work, grilling or painting, in short I was seriously indulged in every bit of task. Passing the map, purchasing material and its transportation, managing men at work, arranging and scheduling the tasks modes and financial dealings, they were all fascinating and breath taking tasks. With my full time job, handling such type of things never gonna be easy.

Knowing the art of Civil engineering was simply amazing. Without doing any research or getting certificate I am able to know the low/high nodes of this science. RCC secrets, 3 phase wiring, ceramics and sanitary fittings' world and wood carving.

Hmmmmmm.......... isn't interesting ??????

Nonetheless, it has been a great experience of my life. I got a real chance to meet people related to different fields of life. Feel the difference among their ways of doing work, approach to their objectives and passion for their work. Able to hear them praising and criticizing for different things. I also got the idea of working on physical objects rather than non-physical objects like software.

And above all, now I can think as an IT professional and also as a Civil Engineer, Ahhhh this is Superb.

I am going to miss a genuine Software Development Manager

A person who remains cool headed in difficult situations, lead teams bravely, loaded with experience and technical knowledge can be considered as a genuine Manager.

From tomorrow, I am going to miss such a genuine Software Development Manager. I was with him for about 17 months. In this period of time I can easily remember numerous occasions where situation demanded real leader ship from him and he was up to the task every time. I saw him angry few times but it was very rare and might be necessary to get angry.

Today, when I met him to say good bye, he offered me nice compliments and prayed for my goodness.

In reply to a question that I had asked him to share his most difficult time in his job life so far, he told me that always give immense importance to team communication. Communication with the client and among team members is very critical for the success of any product or project life cycle. Gapes in communication are the main root cause of failures. Always we need to make sure that every single person has been communicated well.

I have noted down his advice, it will surely help me in developing my self as a successful Project Manager.

Dearth of Fuel...Why are we not stop manufacturing Luxury Cars and Jeeps?

We have been weeping and crying all the time that fuel is becoming more n more expensive as the time passing by. $142 a barrel is top price so far. Whole world is in search of fuel alternatives and bio-fuel is one of them.

But is it not a joke? that on one side we always pass resolutions on Fuel conservation and on the other side car manufacturing companies producing engines with ever-high CCs. From 2400 cc to 6000 cc cars and no need to discuss Jeep engines. We all know how fuel consuming vehicles they are.

In my point of view, 1300 - 1600 cc vehicles are enough for domestic transportation. We can not burn so much of fuel energy on our Luxurious lifestyle.

By stop manufacturing and using high-powered engines we surely can save a huge volume of fuel.

We can utilize this amount of fuel in many other and much useful ways.

Am I wrong?

Is it my fault? ...... or is it yours ?? ....

Few months before, I was thinking as if that I was doing every thing fine, my approach about work and life was correct and I didn't need any change in my thoughts.

But right now I have realized that I was wrong. I must say thanks to my managers, to my seniors and to my friends, who really help me in improving myself. Thanks a lot.

I can easily accept that there were so many things which could be done in a much better way. I can understand now that I was rigid in my thoughts. And that rigidity really hurts me.

But let me tell you one thing, its not pure my fault, its our society, media and people surround us. During my university life and then in professional life I continuously observed that in general we have a habit of back biting, thinking ourselves genius while others foolish, trying to find out weaknesses only and never look towards any positive side. We never try to learn good things but absorb rubbish all the time.

I must say we never want to give more values to others than ourselves, we are selfish and live for ourselves only. And this is the approach which really destroys our society.

In this short writing I can never present my full thoughts but this is just a run-through which I want to share.....

Now, I have started to give more values to others, trying to be more optimistic, realistic and flexible.

My First Job Interview

First job interview is always very thrilling and pounding. People usually very excited about it. With a little fear and some unknown doubt, one appears for his/her interview. Few people are able to overcome their hesitation and shyness soon and this is the first real success for them while others remain hesitant and this eventually become one major drawback.

Fortunately, I am one of those lucky young people who are able to be confident in their approach and non-hesitant against their interviewer.

It was the month of November and the date was 13th when I received an interview call from a well established organization 'Kolachi Advanced Technologies'. I can still remember that it was great mental confusion for me whether I go for the interview or concentrate on my examination which were starting from 15th of November. I was thinking that if I was able to get this opportunity then how I would manage both the responsibilities. But thanks to my parents and my friends who gave me such a confidence that at last I was able to appear for the interview with peace of mind.

There were two interviews taken, one was technical and the other one was general. I answered each question with some confidence and calm and did not get frustrated on cross questioning and luckily I was able to convince the interviewer. Any how my both interviews were gone very fine and I was sure that I would be able to get job offer here. Fortunately they offered me job opportunity and I happily accepted this chance without any further thought.

What you prefer, living in Center of a City or in Suburbs?

If some one asks you a question, where do you prefer to live? In suburbs or in downtown. Your answer might be in the favor of downtown because it is a centre of city, shopping centers, hospitals, office, schools, universities and transport are near. In short availability of almost every thing is easy in a downtown.

With all these benefits there are many drawbacks also. Center of cities are usually densely populated, congested, very much noisy and greatly polluted. On the other hand if we talk about suburbs there are some disadvantages as suburbs are far from the centre of city and hence far off these shopping centers, hospitals and schools and less transport. With all these disadvantages, there are some major advantages too.

Suburbs are calm and quiet, less populated and less polluted. And I prefer these good qualities over the good qualities of downtown. Why? Let me clear this in detail. It’s a universal truth that human is more close to nature; he likes natural creations more than artificial objects. Greenery attracts him a lot. It gives him a soothing effect.

Like other necessities of a human being; peace, rest and healthy environment are the key aspects of ones life. Without these ingredients a human cannot live a healthy life and we all know that health is wealth. If you sick not healthy then there is no importance remains of other things in your life.

So if you are living in suburbs, you are actually avoiding pollution, noise and traffic jams. This results in better health, reduces anxiety and decreases the tension.

When you are physically and mentally fit and free from tension, you have automatically become cool tempered. In short with all these advantages I without any doubt prefer to live in suburbs.
